Everyday Teacher Makeup

Everyday Teacher Makeup

Let me start by saying a couple of things. First, I am NOT a beauty expert!!! I am just a girl who loves makeup & has watched hours of Youtube videos. I find doing my makeup therapeutic & kind of like art. I enjoy waking up early, drinking my coffee, & listening to a podcast as I do my makeup in the morning. Second, I know this is a lot of products! This is what I like & what works for me! If you don’t wear makeup to school, good for you! If you wear makeup to school, good for you! Everyone has their own preference! These are my ride or die products that last from the before school staff meeting all the way through the last parent-teacher conference at night!

I also want to mention that the majority of these products are high end products, not drugstore. My skin is sensitive & I have to be careful with the products I use or I will break out in an instant! These are not the cheapest products but I obviously did not go out and buy all of these products at once. Every time I would go to Ulta or Sephora I would buy one new thing to try! Trust me when I say I have done a LOT of testing of products! 🙂

When I am in a rush I can do this all in under 10 minutes, but I usually just enjoy taking my time while I sip my coffee.

The Base

Primer

The primer you use depends on your skin type! I prefer the hydrated/dewy look over a matte finish with my makeup. I love the Too Faced Hangover Rx Primer. It is hydrating and makes my makeup last!

Foundation

My ride or die foundation that I have used for YEARS is the Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation. This is a heavier foundation, but you can adjust the coverage by how much you use! This is the only foundation that lasts an entire school day! I have tested out so many that look great when I leave the house, but when I get home it is either splotchy or looks like I was never wearing foundation in the first place!! I apply my foundation with a Real Techniques beauty sponge. I have used a Beauty Blender before but I honestly like the Real Techniques dupe better & it is way cheaper!

Concealer

There are two concealers that I love. Tarte Shape Tape & Too Faced Born This Way Concealer. They are both super hydrating. I honestly go back and forth between both of them because they are both great! I apply my concealer with the same Real Techniques beauty sponge.

Powder

I use two powders in my routine. After I put concealer on, I apply Laura Mercier Loose Translucent Powder under my eyes. This is the only powder that I have used that doesn’t make my under eyes crease or look cakey. I don’t use this all over my face! To set my foundation I use the Charlotte Tilbury Pressed Powder. This is the best face powder I have ever used! It literally makes your skin look airbrushed!

Face

Bronzer

I am extra and use two bronzers, but I bet nobody is surprised by that! 🙂 The first bronzer that I apply is the Benefit Hoola Bronzer in the original shade. This is a long time favorite of mine. I like it because it is more of a cool toned bronzer which makes it not look orange! On top of that I apply a little bit of the Hourglass Ambient Light Bronzer in the shade Luminous Bronze Light. A lot of bloggers & Youtubers use this & raved about it. It was expensive so I avoided it for a long time! I finally caved when I had some gift cards and it is no joke! They weren’t lying! This bronzer has a little bit of shimmer in it too. It gives me the sun-kissed look even when it is winter in Illinois!

Blush

It took me a while to find a blush I loved! I wanted a neutral blush rather than a pinky one! I am obsessed with the Charlotte Tilbury blushes. My favorite shade is Love Glow.

Highlight

I do not do this step for school, but I figured I would share this anyways! I have two highlighters that are my favorite! The first is the Becca Champagne Pop Highlighter. My other favorite is the Charlotte Tilbury Bronze & Glow Contour Duo. (Can you tell I love all Charlotte Tilbury products??)I am obsessed with this bronze & glow palette. This was a Christmas gift because it is pricey!

Eyes

Eyeliner

I have rocked the winged eyeliner for years. My ride or die product that makes the wing so easy is the Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner in black! It is so sharp & precise. I also used to have a hard time with eyeliners creasing! I have never had an issue with this one!

Mascara

I used 2 different mascaras. I use the L’Oreal Voluminous Lash Primer. I am new to the whole lash primer trend but I will NEVER GO BACK! I swear this makes all the difference in making your lashes look amazing. My favorite mascara is the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara. I have been using it for years!

Eyeshadow

I don’t wear any eyeshadow to school! One time I did and all of my boys said I looked weird & asked what was wrong with me! (#middleschool) If I do wear eyeshadow I literally just apply my bronzer in my crease to give it some definition!

Eyebrows

All Benefit eyebrow products are amazing. I first line my eyebrows with the Benefit Precisely My Brow Pencil. I then brush & fill them in with the Benefit Gimme Brow. This makes them look full! Swear by this!

Lips

Since this is a post about the makeup I wear to school, I’m going to be honest & say that the only thing I put on my lips is chapstick for the day! I actually have chapstick everywhere & apply it all day long. My favorite is just the original Burt’s Bees.

Setting Spray

THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT STEP!!! Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray changed my life. Dramatic, I know, but when I don’t do this my makeup does not last! This is my last step & I usually do it right before I head out the door. I spray a few pumps of this on my face & fan myself for a few seconds. Your makeup will last all day.

Again, I know this is a lot! These are the makeup items that I cannot live without. I am very picky when it comes to makeup & I have tested out so many products! Let me know your favorites below!

Would you consider doing a blog post on your skincare routine? I’ve seen you post about loving TULA.

Next, can you do a tutorial on how you do your hair? Like in the “Get to Know Me Q & A” pic? 🙂

Love all these products! Question about your base routine. Do you put on your concealer first, set it, then foundation, and then powder? Or a different order? I always learned concealer first, but I am all for breaking the rules. Also, do you use a brush for your powder? Thank you for writing this! I struggle with my make up coming off, like on a scarf or something. I am hoping your product recommendations might avoid that!
